Ignatz,
Regarding the stereoscopic 3D renders. I used to always have red & blue glasses hanging around the house, believe it or not. It was just one of those things where I'd get a pair for whatever reason, and say to myself "Well, you never know when you'll need these." Eventually, I had a bunch of them, all cheap ones, made of paper. They got ruined, lost, found, lost again, etc. I don't have a single pair anymore, sorry to say.
I can usually see side-by-side 3D images by eye, as how an old stereopticon was used, but the main images need to be fairly close together. I'll play with the two separate ship images in Inkscape later; I'll probably be able to see it, if I play around with the spacing a bit.
Regarding the drone, I like it! I'm assuming the center of mass for this would be down low, more in line with the thruster arms. They look really cool and useful. Send them out when you need to, pull up a targeting feed that includes everything from the sensor drones spaced out over the box, and you've got a huge integrated system for self-protection.
I think, concept-wise, this works very well. Boy, you'd really need to move a lot of cargo to pay for all this specialized equipment, though!
