It's been a long couple of years, with lots of personal obligations and drama taking focus, but this is where I can start getting back to some slowed or stalled projects. As a consequence, I'll be updating this blog/email thing with news of Stardrifter and other stuff. There are a few things on that front to share right now, as well as some related projects which are in the works.
All He Surveys: Volume 02
The written version is nearly finished. It'll require a lot of editing and cleaning up, but we're in the home stretch. After this will come the podiobook. I decided not to release anything until everything is complete, so don't expect to see AHS: 02 in your local online digital ebook retailer until then.
The Stardrifter Role-Playing Game
I'm currently on Alpha version 0.05.3; this tabletop RPG is overdue for a new point release. There will be a link for that on my website once it drops, and I'll share it here when it does. This is free for now. The finished version -- if it ever comes into existence -- will be available at various online game retailers. I have some thoughts about the evolution and disposition of this game, which we'll go over at some point.
Stardrifter RPG Videos
I've been doing some very low-rent solo run-throughs of Stardrifter on Youtube. Not for the idly curious, I think only those who are into experimental game design and testing would be able to sit through these, but I enjoy doing them very much. A group of tough mercenaries are hired to obtain a vital piece of information, causing nothing but chaos and terror in its pursuit!
54, a (new) generic RPG
This is a completely different role-playing game, which uses an ordinary deck of playing cards instead of dice. It's designed to be used to play any genre of adventure, without a game master. Still in the early playtest stage, I'll be putting up a link to the latest version, for free, both here and on my site, with the next point release.
Super-Secret Podcast Project
That's right, a new podcast! This one will be about tabletop games and gaming, as well as related media that inspires us to play. This will cover opinions, observations, and discussion of game design. Still in the planning stages, we'll be getting started on it very soon. Expect details, news, and updates forthcoming!
