David,
I've given it another try. The lights are now long and thin, placed along the outer edge of the frame support(s) and have been reduced in number. In addition I reduced the size of the red beacon lights at each outer corner. The whole effect seems a bit less garish to the eye. What do you think?

Ignatz,
I don't know, man. To be frank, none of these look right to me. There's something about the little lights being along the edges that just isn't working.
A few modern airplanes put lights all over the fuselage, but most of them are restricted to just a few in-flight. To me, they look mysterious and intriguing moving across the night sky.
For this model, I don't think it would be amiss to have one or maybe two slightly larger lights on the long sides, and just one on the small sides, centered in the middle. They wouldn't show off the shape of the boxes, but that wouldn't be their purpose. For detailed images, we'd see the whole thing in better light; someplace with bright suns. But for regular travel, the beacon lights would only be for marking the presence of the cruise, not its physical shape.
Thoughts?

David,
What about this one?

Ignatz,
That's the best one so far. Let's go with it. There would likely be a lot of different lighting layouts, right? Plus, this might be one of those places where we could fuss forever. This really is nice.

David,
I'm with you on this one... at least for now. Much more to do, so if need be we can return to this issue at a later time.
