I'm just yankin' ya. I don't have anything to sell. I do have a few photos to share that relate to the next Stardrifter short story, though. Yes, photos! From the real world! I spend a lot of time in my head, so go figure.
I would have dropped this newsletter on Wednesday last, but it was the day before Thanksgiving here in the USA, and I was busy, running around getting us ready, messing with plumbing in the kitchen, and other stuff. Wednesdays are the goal, and will be the general release day for this newsletter, but flexibility will rule over all.
All He Surveys, D
raft 2, will be getting a new ending. I've decided that what I've got right now won't do, so it's back to the writing desk, where I'll take a fresh swing at it. Will that slow this down even further? Taken as a whole, I don't think so. It's a choice: fix it in this draft, or fix it in the next. I'm going with this one.
Looky here. Can you guess what this is? Some of you probably can...but that's a clue right there!
This is a tin can microphone. No, it's not made from tin, nor is it even a can, but it just as easily could be, and still often are.
I made this version from a plastic bottle, and it will be important for the recording of the upcoming short story, "The Prince of Ramador". I've never made a microphone before, even one as simple as this (and it is, very), but I've tested it a little, and it does what it's supposed to do.
If you want to know the details of how such a thing is crafted, you can check out any of the many YouTube videos on the subject.
And that's it. Hope your week is a good one! See you next Wednesday (or whatever).
Take care,
-David
