Ignatz,
Absolutely take your time. There are no deadlines, and no obligations. I'm happy my stories have been appreciated, but you truly owe me nothing. I do what I do for fun. I hope you're having fun, too, building the model and illustration. If that ever changes, and it starts to feel like a drag instead of a lark, please take a step back.
What you've put together for me already is far beyond anything I ever foresaw when I started this.
And, also for the record, I DON'T mind paying for your time. I can't really afford professional rates, but if there's, say, a software plugin that you have your eye on, that I can pitch in something for, it might be a way forward for both of us. Just a thought.

David,
Thank you for the kind offer, but 'no', if there is something that is needed on small scale I'll plump for it myself (I strongly suspect that of the two of us I'm in better financial straits). But more importantly, as I said before, I really owe you big time for all the fine stories. Really! I've listened to your three novels at least five times through, not to mention the short stories (love that "Open All Night"). Just consider all of that on an hourly rate basis (ha! ha!). If you really want to do something at all for me then just occasionally turn those grey cells back to the work on "All He Surveys". Your writing and narrating talents are gold, man!
And, yes, the project is surprisingly fun, even if somewhat annoying to me at times in the (usual for me) technically frustrating way. Just another set of mountains to climb...
Cheers,
- Ignatz
