David,
Another snapshot of the progress. Close-up of some work around the airlock(s).
I'm adding in protective cages around most of the airlock exits. These are designed such that the space suited tech has a secure place to stand during exit and entry from the airlock. Especially on exit the cage prevents the tech from accidentally launching out into space without meaning to do so.
The lighting above the entry point is both to make the airlock more visible - this to allow for better visual location of same - as well as indicating the airlock status. Red would indicate that the airlock is at cabin pressure and that the outer hatch will not open. Conversely, green would indicate zero pressure in the airlock and that the outer hatch will open. Of course, it could also be that this status indication could be on a set of smaller lights set into the hatch itself and that the light above the hatch serve only for general lighting. As I think about, I'm liking that last idea better.
Cheers,
- Ignatz
